BIRD!

By Natasha S., Cheyenne Photojournalist

NORTH LAS VEGAS- This picture was a happy accident. I was attempting to catch a bird in flight, the way Mikko Lagerstedt did in his photo Dark Times. Instead, I got this photo. I cropped the photo and added a color pop. I adjusted the image to the “Rule of Thirds” by putting the bird in the line of sight. I also enhanced the colors, thus making the bird darker so the contrast would be more visible. Although my photo did not capture exactly what I wanted, the photo ended up being artistically Most birds are in groups, but this bird is alone. It reminds me of myself because I take pictures alone, so I can be influenced by the beauty of nature or my surroundings, not by people.
